Preparing Your Guest Room for the Holidays

Now that November is here it’s officially time to start prepping for the holidays because ready or not, here they come! Even if you’re not ready to start thinking about Christmas (me neither!), it’s time to start getting you and your home ready for the season. Being with family and friends is a huge part of the holidays, and welcoming them into your home as guests can be daunting! Today I’m sharing six ways to prepare your guest room and bathroom for the holidays! Whether you’re a seasoned pro, or hostessing rookie, these special touches will make your guests feel right at home this holiday season.

One: Comfy Sheets

Nothing will make a guest feel more at home than a cozy pair of sheets! These sheets are from Amazon and they are the best, the quality is amazing and you can’t beat the price! They come in so many different colors, but I’m always partial to a crisp white set of sheets.

Two: Flowers

Everyone loves fresh flowers, and they can really change the feel of the room! Adding fresh flowers to a nightstand, or dresser (or both!) will make your Guest Room feel homey and welcoming. It’s little intentional touches like this that make such a difference!

Three: Stock up on Supplies

Having your Guest Bathroom stocked with the essentials will ensure your guest feels comfortable and has everything they need. Even if it’s a close family member it’s always nice to not have to ask for things in someone else’s home. If you have the counter space it’s nice to display the items in a basket or tray so guests know they are for them to use. If you don’t have counter space, mention the items to your guests and leave them organized in a drawer in the bathroom or room. Some items I suggest having are: cotton balls/pads, hair ties, shampoo, conditioner, soap, q-tips, a razor, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste, and tissues. I would also suggest having some Advil or Tums for your guest so they don’t have to ask you if they happen to need anything!

Four: Blankets

Everyone prefers their home at a different temperature so in case your guests gets a little chilly it’s always good to a few extra blankets in the Guest Room for their use! I am currently LOVING my Chappy Wrap. A Chappy Wrap would be the perfect blanket to add in a Guest Room because it is big enough to use on a bed with two people. They are super super soft, and washable, which is a great feature to have when using for guests!

Five: Towels

I talked about Weezie Towels briefly in my Friday Favs post last week so you may have already checked them out, but if you haven’t, you need to! Their products are so soft and plush, and will make any guest experience luxurious. You can get both bath and hand towels so your bathroom will look put together with a matching towel set. I love all of the font and color options they have to offer, so you can truly customize them to your home! They even offer robes, which would be such a nice touch to include in a Guest Bathroom.

Six: Electronics

This is a little cheesy, but we all know asking for a Wifi password can be awkward! Go ahead and provide your guests with the Wifi information in their room so if they need it it’s accessible to them without having to ask. Also, put a phone charger or two in the room so guests will have one readily available in case they forget one!

Even if your guests are close family, it’s nice to provide them with anything they could need to feel at home. Hopefully this post was helpful and informative as you start preparing for the holidays and hosting family and friends!

There’s always Something to Style Over!
